Study of architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings. Knowledge of the elements related to the architectural drawings. Introduction to the sequence of: design, concept, and presentation, working drawings. Graphical symbols. Dimensioning. In working drawings: setting, plans, reference system. Plans, elevations and sections. Project-specific details.



Wood Construction #221-QNC-05
Study of the various materials and their application. Methods of frame construction, principles of insulating and waterproofing. Exterior walls. Principles of load distribution through roof, floor and wall members and assemblies. materials and methods of roof shingling.



Technical drafting #242-161-91
Drafting instruments, scales, dimensioning, graphical representation of three-dimensional objects and spaces by means of two-dimensional drawings. Emphasis on accuracy, methodology, productivity, cleanliness and communicative value of the drawings. Orthographic, Oblique and Axonometric projection.



Basic techniques of computer aided drafting #242-361-91
Introduction to the CAD system: logical approach: mathematical and geometrical; study of the different menu structures; creation of simple 2D forms and figures. Drawing modification: breaking, shifting, regrouping and shading; enlargement, reduction; filing; level variation; 2D rotation; mirror drawings; etc.

Sketches, preliminary and working drawings for a residential building. Preparation of a typical working drawings' set: format, drawing figures and information found on each drawing; studying and recording standard construction methods for light wood framing and post and beam construction; study of relevant codes, standards and specifications.



Computer aided drafting II #242-107-86
Realisation from various components of a drawing in orthogonal projection, axonometric and perspective. Complex and oblique connections. Changing of plans and/or axonometric rotation. Regrouping the various components of a project from various files. To master the space interpretation and the treatment of the surfaces.
